Dr. Feinstein was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Neurobiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine until 1986, at which time he joined the faculty at UCSB. He has served as a grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Cancer Research Co-ordinating Committee of California and the American Heart Association and is a former recipient of a University of California Junior Faculty Regents Award and the UCSB Distinguished Teaching Award. Presently, he is Director of the Neuroscience Research Institute.
