Laser Scanning Microscope
The Olympus FV1000 confocal system is the confocal scanning system that will allow for complete automated control of the scanning during mosaic scanning. The FV1000 is confocal system capable of a 4096x4096 scan, a useful feature for our initial low magnification scans. The system also has several important features: constant laser power feedback, ensuring constant and even laser power; automated variable laser power and PMT sensitivity at different depths to adjust for light scatter in thicker samples; up to 16 virtual channel acquisition through automated sequential filter changes; integrated FRET, FRAP, and FLIP control and analysis, and 3D rendering capability.
